Flora Europaea the original Linnean specimen biennal to perennial, T-H, 2n=16, diploid mesoxeric to xeric, frequent ruderal Palearctic, termophyle, from the steppe and forest-steppe (where the species is present the most) up to the lower nemoral belt Festucetalia valesiacae, Sisymbrietalia, Onopordion, Artemisio-Agropyrion R87 from warm areas, R34 habitats       This xeric species is very frequent in southern Romania and much rare in the northern and central regions.
